Free v.s Incentivized Promotions

Most often, in affiliate marketing in general you have programs that give out free money or bonuses for new customers. While most affiliates find this appealing, there is a deeper meaning to this type of targeting for new customers.
In many cases, while using a free money or a free bonus option, you will notice that while there is a spike in the registrations, the conversion of a registration or a lead to a depositing customer is relatively less.
ForexAffiliates Review, in it’s experience has dabbled with forex affiliate programs that give away free money or bonus of incentives for forex traders to deposit and also tested the other option of using no free incentives. In our experiment, we noticed that the forex affiliate program which gave out free money attracted a lot of new registrations.
However, after 3 months, the conversion of registration/lead to a depositing trader was less than 1% On the same note, we experimented with a forex affiliate program that did not give away any incentives for new customers but only gave away bonuses upon the forex traders making a deposit.
As noticed, while comparing the results between the two, we could see a considerable difference in the conversion factor which directly affects the commissions.
In conclusion, a forex affiliate program giving away free money might seem like a good incentive, but the bottomline for such promotion being that it helps only to drive volumes. On the other hand, a forex affiliate program that does not give away free bonuses but only provides bonuses when the forex trader makes a deposit will see a higher conversion rate.
